GREGORIAN CHANT AT UNSW

I am doing a Diploma of Education (Hist and Engl) at the University of N.S.W. I had to do my history microteaching (we do a practice lesson on our uni classmates and are assessed by our teacher). I decided to do medieval church music. I did a few things but at the end I got the class to sing a Kyrie in ferial tone.

I had the girls standing in the collegial style with the boys encircled around a 'lectern.' I cantored, the boys responded and the girls copied. They weren't too bad!
To top it all of, two of the girls who sang are Muslims and wear the headscarf!

Needless to say I got top marks

The Sting

This is my first post.

I suppose you are wondering what the title of this blog is and why.

It is Morsus Marinus- the Sting of the Sea. It come from my Coat of Arms, which I hope to have displayed here one day. The crest on the helm is that of a Portugese Man-O-War, or Bluebottle in Australia. They are those incedibly nasty and painful stinging animals in the water.

I chose that as my crest when I applied for a coat of arms from the King of Arms (In England), because that is the only animal that a serious Surfer or Ocean goer really cant handle. Sharks are nothing compared to the bluebottle. Most surfers wouldn't really worry about a shark, but a whole pile of bluebottes- thats a diferent story

Now now no monkey business
